Nigerians put the extra in extra. They find a way to customize everything and carve out a Nigerian way to do it. One such thing is how to display wealth, apparently, there’s a Nigeria way to do it and we have a list for it;
1. Upgrade their name to “Chief”.
It’s no longer XYZ, it’s now Chief XYZ. The public should take note then.
2. Hire escorts.
With no legitimate reason or provocation people suddenly feel the need to move around town with hefty looking escorts.
3. Go round in convoys.
And add to our already big big traffic problem.
4. Do routine giveaways.
Because how else will people know the money is there if you don’t occasionally ask them to explain with 5k will do for them?
5. Shade other people for not being up to par.
To remind them that you can afford all the designer things even if no one is in competition with you. And even if they don’t care.
6. Throw parties for the flimsiest reasons.
It doesn’t have to make any sense. Just keep finding ways to gather people around, share jollof rice, share drinks, and top it off with souvenirs.
