Next time you see someone advertising a food tray on social media, pause and take a more cursory look at the image. Take some time to zoom in. The things you’ll see will baffle you and make you wonder if anyone actually orders those things or if vendors just post the pictures for vibes. We don’t have a problem with either scenario, by the way. It’s just hilarious sometimes.
I mean, look at some of the things you’ll see on a food tray.
1. Eba
First of all, nobody is going to a party saying, “OMG I can’t wait to eat that lone eba without any stew or soup. It’s my favourite part of the tray”. No. So tell us, why do you put eba on food trays? Are you just trying to occupy every square inch of the tray? Is that what this is?
2. Already cut fruits
Why are people leaving fruits cut open on food trays? So you’re telling me that I should eat this orange that has been open for the past four hours with spicy crab legs poking it? I will do no such thing.
3. Random ass food placements
First of all, the fact that there’s a bar of Bounty chocolate on this food tray is already annoying the shit out of me because Bounty should not be eaten by anyone trying to see the next day. Now, even if we were to forgive the inclusion of bounty, there’s no way we’re ignoring the fact that there’s just a bar of unopened bounty lying on a plate of shrimp fried rice. Who does these things?
4. Here’s another one
Three pieces of grapes are just chilling on waffles that have been exposed to the air like it’s a normal thing. Let me make this clear: It is not a normal thing.
5. A wild assortment of random things
Some food trays look like someone forgot to actually make a food tray and just dashed into a grocery store last minute and picked everything they could find. How can one food tray have Bounty, Snickers, HobNobs, Pringles, small chops, 7 pieces of fries, one burger, one parfait, and 50 crabs? What is the theme?
