People with natural hair hear the most annoying things/ unsolicited advice / unnecessary opinions. Here are 6 of them;
1. “Relax your hair na”.
Give me a minute to refer back to when i asked for your advice.
2. “Is it not paining you”.
Plix why will it pain me? Is your mouth not paining you from all the times you have been chooking it in business that is not yours?
3. “You hair looks dirty and unkept”.
And yours looks unrealistic. The fact that the basis for this comparison is Peruvian/Brazilian/Vietnamese hair is disturbing. It’s not your even hair either.
4. “Your hair looks stressful”.
The head on my hair is causing you stress? Make it make sense please.
5. “You’ll have to relax your hair for this style”.
And you call yourself Nigerian hairdresser. Please give up that title, you obviously know nothing about Nigerian hair.
6. “Your hair is too long for natural hair, are you wearing a wig”?
No, I am wearing my hair the way nature intended.
7. Can I touch your hair?
Yes, I charge 5k per second. Since my hair is now a tourist attraction.
As you must have assumed, people with natural hair are not the only ones Nigerians like to say annoying things to, they do it to photographers and designers too.
