Introverts are something. While everyone finds it easy to socialise and do other things humans do together, they prefer to stand in a corner and watch everything going on. Sometimes, they want to join in the fun but they don’t know how to. This post is how an average introvert tries to make new friends.
Don’t talk to people, but hope they come to talk to you
As an introvert, you should always avoid talking to people first. Also, you should wonder why they won’t talk to you. All you need to do to clear everything up is to walk up to them and start a conversation, but you can never do that. Just stay there and watch.
Wonder why they don’t like you
It doesn’t matter that you’ve not spent a lot of time interacting with them, you must immediately come to the conclusion that they hate you with everything they have. And that’s what you should run with.
Spend an unhealthy amount of time stalking them
Since you can’t figure out why they don’t like or rate you, turn to social media for help as opposed to actually talking to them. Something about a picture they posted when they were in a night club will give you the answers you need.
Pretend that you don’t care
At some point, you have to decide that you’re moving on from them — only that you won’t. Now to cope with that, pretend that you don’t care about them or what they think about you. Hint: It won’t work, but who cares?
Make every conversation awkward
Ah, this is very important. Whenever you have a chance to talk to them, overthink every word that comes out of your mouth — unwittingly say things that will make the conversation uncomfortable and hope that they won’t notice. You’re an introvert; you can’t help it.
Become a nuisance when you become friends
When you become comfortable with hanging around with them and realise that they don’t hate you, unleash all your different layers, personalities and attributes. You can’t be shy around them anymore because you’ve paid your dues. They will be surprised at first, but they will get used to it.
