An American influencer Luis Olivas has bought market from Nigerians for his Andrew Tate brand of alpha male content and they are not having it. The TikToker, who has cultivated a fan base of young male followers, has promoted stereotypical and sexist ideas about women.

He has said that men should not give their female partners second chances, demand total loyalty, and put them under their armpit.

“Giving her a second chance is like watching the same film twice. It will always have the same ending,” he said just last week. “Trust a man will put his happiness aside for a woman. But a woman will put her man aside for her happiness,” he said in another post.

In just a few days, he has gone from 100,000 followers to more than a million, thanks to Nigerians who have turned his comment section to the new market square. Think of it like the golden age of ClubHouse. There are people coming to his comment section just to wish him good morning.

Though he has been making his content, which has the refrain, “Bro to Bro” for a long time, mainstream Nigerian TikTokers have only just discovered him this week.

Mostly young Nigerian men have been praising him for his titbits that they say are helping them act like men. But other commenters have been less supportive, dragging him for his retrogressive tradwife views.
