There’s so much new music being released that it’s hard for even the most loyal fans to wade through the trash to find the gems. That’s why we’ve created #BumpThis – a Friday series that features new songs, by and featuring Nigerians, that you absolutely need to hear.
Mr Eazi — “Tony Montana” ft. Tyga
While Mr Eazi is way more than just an artist now — he recently cemented himself as a thoughtful entrepreneur — he’s still managed to drop one of 2019’s best songs, the Simi-assisted “Doyin”. Now, he’s back with another solid track, “Tony Montana”, featuring Grammy-nominated rapper, Tyga.
On the Killertunes-produced track, Mr Eazi sings about his astronomic rise and the haters that come along with that. Tyga echoes similar sentiments on his verse, warning haters to stay away. It’s an admittedly odd pairing, but Mr Eazi has never met a genre or collaboration he couldn’t dominate.
M.anifest — “Tomorrow” ft. Burna Boy
Following their collaboration on “Another Story” — a standout off Burna Boy’s Grammy-nominated magnum opus, African Giant — Ghanaian rapper, M.anifest has now reunited with the afro-fusion star for his impressive new single, “Tomorrow”.
On the track, M.anifest and Burna Boy talk about putting their all into a relationship. “Tomorrow no dey promised to nobody, so today, I go love you like say tomorrow no dey”, Burna sings on the fantastic chorus. “Tomorrow” is further proof of the pair’s palpable chemistry.
