The late film director Biyi Bandele adapted the book of the same name by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie to a film in 2013. Its cast includes Chiwetel Ejiofor, Genevieve Nnaji, OC Ukeje, John Boyega and Onyeka Onwenu.

The Meeting (2012)

This romantic comedy film stars Rita Dominic, Femi Jacobs, Linda Ejiofor, and Nse Ikpe-Etim. It is about a guy seeking an appointment with the Minister of Land and a female corp member who falls in love after they meet at the airport.

Saworoide (1999)

This Tunde-Kelani-directed film makes a commentary on the political landscape of Nigeria. It explores the story of the ruler and the ruled. Lere Paimo, Kola Oyewo, and Bukky Wright are the top cast of this film.

Oleku 1 & 2 (1997)

Oleku is an adaption of Professor Akinwunmi Ishola’s novel of the same name. This film is a romantic drama about a university final year student who has to decide who he will marry between the three women he’s in a relationship with and get his mom’s off his back. It’s in two parts, and both are on YouTube. Tunde Kelani directed it and Yemi Shodimu played the lead.

Betrayal’s Sting (2024)

A serial cheat and husband promise to change his ways, but he soon goes back to his old ways, sleeping with his house help. His wife does all she can to protect their marriage, but it is futile. It stars Dave Ogbani and Charles Billion.

Lagos Big Girl (2024)

Ruth Kadiri brings Francess Ben, Osas Ighodaro and James Onyeka together for a story about Lagos babes and fake luxury lifestyle. 

Scent of a Woman (2024)

A lonely woman whose strict husband won’t  let her have and keep friends falls for the manipulation of her ex-lover. Mercy Johnson, Blossom Chuwkujekwu and Queen Okam are some of the familiar faces in this film.

Maid for Love (2024)

Are you looking for a Nollywood romantic film that will leave you saying “Awww” everywhere? This is it. Maid for Love explores the relationship of a lovely couple and their cooperative mother-in-law.

Nobody But Me (2023)

Love, betrayal, jealousy, and insecurity take centre stage in Nobody but Me as a couple confronts marital issues. Daniel Etim-Effiong and Ego Nwosu are the stars of this film. Start here if you haven’t seen Nadia Buhari in action in a while.

The illusion of a one-happy-family wears after the infidelity secrets of one of the wives of a wealthy polygamist come out. The family faces a breakup. This film features actors like Damilola Oni, Tosin Olaniyan and Tunde Aderinoye.

Women’s Cot (2005)

Wives of wealthy men come together to create a resistance movement against abuse and violence. This film features Onyeka Onwenu, Joke Silva, Bukky Ajayi, and Rita Edochie.

Mutual Benefits (2023)

A married couple agrees to an open marriage, but it soon gets complicated after the wife sleeps with her husband’s best friend. Watch Maurice Sam, Uche Montana, and Toosweet Annan in this romantic drama from Nollywood.
