Abobaku in Yoruba means “someone that dies with the king”.
When the king dies the Abobaku has the honour of serving the king in the afterlife; and the position is a chieftaincy title to some family.
As you all know, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Sijuwade’s burial is on hold because the Abobaku has absconded.
